Bayside skate parks and bowls filled in with sand after police request

Bayside City Council’s skate parks and bowls have been filled in with sand and tankbark after requests from Victoria Police.

The council said skateboarders were still using Bayside’s skate parks, despite them being closed in line with Stage 3 restrictions.

Police requested “immediate action”.

The skate parks are at Donald MacDonald Reserve in Beaumaris, Peterson Reserve in Highett Road, Elsternwick Park and Royal Avenue Reserve in Sandringham.

The material will be removed once restrictions ease, in accordance with Victorian Government guidelines.
